Curious me would love to know what Gothic & related fandoms people are requesting for Yuletide. Perhaps folks who are requesting Gothicky fic, and who feel so inclined, could link to their letters on this post? (Not that I'm nosy or anything -- obviously not!)

Crimson Peak (2015) is there, along with The Innocents (1961), Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier, The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson, Nine Coaches Waiting by Mary Stewart, The Haunting (1963), Dracula (1968)-and the novel--and Count Dracula (1977). There's also the 60's incarnation of Dark Shadows, as well as the 1991 version, and an audio adaptation. There are bound to be heaps of other Gothic ones that I haven't caught just yet.

My truly long letter is here:
https://calliopes-pen.dreamwidth.org/1760040.html

It's all Dracula, plus Dark Shadows (1991) and Crimson Peak (2015).

(And I have just remembered that Penny Dreadful is another gothic show that was nominated this year.)

A cunning plan!

I am also requesting the 1968 TV Dracula, plus I have a request for Daughters of Mannerling, which is technically a Regency Romance series, but actually kind of Gothic-lite crack? (It features a beautiful stately home that possesses and kills people on a daily basis.)

Sounds fair. MC Beaton Regencies are very off-hand (although I enjoy them as an easy read), but Mannerling was great!

I asked for fic for The Innocents (1961) here:

Which is of course about hauntings that might not be hauntings but are definitely manifestations of repressed sexual energies! :D

I've requested Elizabeth Kostova's the Historian, which is Dracula once again. :)And Lovecraft's The Case of Charles Dexter Ward.

I believe it was among the last things he wrote, so I imagine it may also be because his writing had improved. :)

I think it's his best too, even if I do like his other works. :)
